This is a course aimed at understanding representative works and following recent advance on selected topics in seismology and geodynamics, including local crustal and earthquake studies, regional tectonics, structure of the earth's mantle, and core and global dynamics. Topics will vary from semester to semester.

The students are required to present papers and participate in discussion of the presented material. In addition, they are asked to be a principal investigator and deliver a short presentation on a proposed or ongoing research at the end of the sesmeter.
